Undercover A&E - NHS in Crisis: Dispatches

Dispatches reporter Robbie Boyd filmed secretly while working in A&E at the Royal Shrewsbury hospital. The undercover footage he gathered exposed the suffering and dangers patients face daily and the depth of the crisis gripping the NHS.  New data gathered for the film revealed the national scale of these problems.

In her five-star Times review, Carol Midgley wrote that watching “was like watching scenes from a war zone.”   She said many viewers would be left praying, “Please don’t let me or any of my family and friends have to go to A&E anytime soon…. frightening, infuriating, important television”.  As well as widespread critical praise the film sparked headlines in most national newspapers.
